Learning & Development Manager

Planning: Responsible for conducting training needs analysis/completion of the organizational training plan & WSP/ATR in conjunction with the various departmental/individual development plans and the organization’s strategy. Develop & design: Develop, design & research in-house courses or source appropriate external training courses to meet learning needs, both skills and developmental, in conjunction with the various training personnel to add value to the organization. Regularly review, update and improve all training courses and materials to ensure up-to-date materials and in line with changing customer needs. Implementation: Facilitate training courses & learnerships throughout organization at all staff levels. Oversee all on-the-job training and departmental trainers (Approx. 30 trainers report into me). Presentations to executive management/UK HR Director. Communication/teamwork with others: Co-ordination of all training courses internally and externally (training activity calendar, departmental training activities, advertising). Liaising with the departmental HODs/external training providers regarding training needs & bookings. Chairing of all training committee meetings and compilation of minutes thereof. Communication of all relevant information/skills legislation. Identify & monitor the organizational culture so that it supports the attainment of company goals and promotes employee satisfaction. Counselling and 1:1 coaching of staff. Succession planning and career development of staff. SETA management: Responsible for all administration/reporting related to CATHSSETA (Indicium system) Talent management: Traineeships/students-interviewing & recruiting trainees/full time students for placements/employment. Manage all traineeships and full time students (rosters, assessor meetings, liaising with department HODs regarding new trainees/students). Quality assurance: Ensure accurate record keeping of all training (database and skills matrix) & training expenses in line with the budgets. Monitoring of mandatory grants received. Accurate records for employment equity purposes/BBBEE reporting. Completion of the training aspects for the EE/BBBEE reports. Budget management: Control expenditure against budget and report of training completed and costs on a monthly basis to Head office and GM.
