I'm currently a postgraduate student enrolled in a Masters degree (chemical engineering) at Stellenbosch University. I have a deep passion for mathematics and science, in which I have previously tutored past students. I love teaching those who want to improve their skills in maths & science, and, given the current situation nationwide, I would like to tutor online to those not attending school(s) and struggling in these areas of study.

I was a registered tutor for Get Smart Tutors, where I assisted students in high school mathematics and science. A tutoring session typically ran for 1 hour where I tutored my students at their homes. I would provide them with notes, in-session exercises, old test/exam questions and homework to monitor their progress.
I worked at Proxa (Pty) Ltd for a year's internship, an engineering design firm that specializes in waste water processing technologies and system design. Each day involved 8 hours at the office in Paarl, where I was exposed to different aspects of the process engineering field. Typical day-to-day work at the office involved technological development (R&D) and laboratory experience, general admin and involvement with projects (orders, consulting etc.). Work outside of the office involved process optimization, water auditing and consulting for various companies/clients as well as involvement with the commissioning and design of a physico-chemical mine effluent plant.
My secondary education was at Somerset College (Somerset West, Western Cape) where I achieved an academic average of 78% by the end of Grade 12. My passions lie with mathematics and science, hence my interest in applying for chemical engineering.
I obtained a Bachelors in Chemical Engineering at the end of 2018. Chemical engineering is associated with the design, optimization and operation of industrial-scale processes, specifically those that process raw materials and transform them into valuable products (petrochemical, mining, food and beverage industries etc.). Chemical engineers are typically responsible for designing such equipment according to the production goals of an industrial process. The degree itself involved extensive studying of mathematics, engineering sciences & chemistry, communication/report writing, experimental design & practical work, process control & design and mathematical modelling, as well as a final-year project (thesis) focusing on a particular investigation.
I achieved 82% for mathematics by the end of Grade 12 in 2013, as well as 74% for Advanced Program Mathematics (APM). When I completed my engineering degree Mathematics becomes the most essential subject throughout, for which I have developed an undying passion for. If you are struggling with Mathematics and want to improve your skills then I am your person willing to help!

I achieved 79% for Physical Sciences (and chemistry) by the end of Grade 12 in 2013. I am capable of teaching physics and chemistry, however my interest strongly lies with chemistry as I have had previous tutoring experience in this field (high school and first-year engineering chemistry), and given my qualification in chemical engineering. If your passion is to excel and improve your chemistry marks, I am happy to assist!
