Tarryn N - Tutor in Kaapsig
Hi I am a Stellenbosch University student, studying a Ba (Humanities). My goal is to teach English as a foreign language when I have completed my degree. I worked at an American Summer Camp for 3 months as a camp counsellor and this is where I found my passion for working with children. I am a very easy-going person and I am generally quite reserved, but I do know how to have fun and would love to use this aspect to help learners have a better experience at school by using different methods of learning. I believe in working hard and putting effort into everything that I do. I stay with my parents, my younger sister, our dog and our 6 cats. We are currently moving to Brackenfell from Joburg side. I love the Western Cape and so I am really excited to begin my new adventure here.

Camp Counsellor
I worked with American children at this summer camp. I had to get them up in the mornings, get them to their activities for the day and teach classes.
Admin Clerk
I worked in an office environment where I ran errands for my boss as well as helped with the company's goal to go paperless by scanning in documents and creating an organized online filing system.
Waitress
I would go to work after school in matric. I did general waitressing duties such as serving food and beverages.
Promoter
I did promotions part-time throughout Grade 11, Matric and during my gap year. I would usually promote alcohol, smart watches and baby cereal, depending on the campaign at the time. This usually consisted of approaching customers and creating brand awareness.

History was my highest mark in matric. I am still very passionate about it and would love to share that with someone else who is currently learning the subject. I love to find new ways to teach certain topics and think that history is a fun subject that should be enjoyed.

I am currently majoring in English at University and it was one of my favourite subjects in school. I am planning on becoming an English teacher one day. I will also be travelling to Thailand at the end of the year to teach children English over there.
