Hi! I'm Kristen Emma, and I'm currently a student at UCT studying towards a BSocSc degree with a politics major. I've been tutoring for 2 years now, both peer and professional tutoring. Im easily approachable and really friendly. My lessons are all about you - the student. We both share a common goal of having you achieve marks you deserve for the effort and time you put in. Im thorough and always prepared which is a major key factor that I believe is truly beneficial for this process.

I am currently studying towards a Bachelor of Social Science with a major in Political Science. My other subjects are Maths (a pre-calculus course) and a social studies course.
Matric - Claremont High School
I graduated with an academic excellence award from my school, I achieved a distinction in Afrikaans in my final NSC exam. As well as grades in the high seventies for English and Geography

Mathematics Literacy
I've completed a first semester course on quantitative literacy which is a course parallel to the concepts of maths lit. I scored 70% for it in my final exam. Its something I believe to have patience to tutor.

Afrikaans
Afrikaans was one of my highest marks in Matric. I scored above 80% for it. Although it is a FAL for me, and I am only willing to tutor it at a FAL level it is one of the subjects I am more comfortable with tutoring. My lessons although, structured to the needs of the student are heavily based on oral communication in the language and learning through reading. It's a subject I have been tutoring consistently now.

English
In matric I got above 75% for English. It was one of the subjects I found very interesting and out a lot of effort in. Specifically English literature. Oral presentations, readings and plays were the parts that I excelled in. I am fluent in English, as it is my HL. I am also in the humanities faculty at UCT which is theory based and I work most days with English literature pieces so tutoring this subject would not pose any difficulties. It is also a subject I have been tutoring consistently now.
